October 26 - Ferry to Guernsey

We arose bright and early and headed to Portsmouth where we got the slow ferry to Guernsey... we thought it would be a more satisfying experience than traveling on the high speed boat and we weren't disappointed. The trip across the English Channel took seven hours in high seas that really gave us the flavor of being at sea! Lots of bouncing!!

The large boat in this photo is our ferry. The smaller one in front of it is the one we will take next week to Sark.

We had our own cabin for the crossing, complete with ensuite bathroom and shower.... not that big a deal for this daytime crossing, but it will be heaven when we take the all-nighter back. Okay, okay.... it's not Queen Elizabeth.... but cozy nonetheless!!

Yippeeeee!! Here we are! We don't even mind the rain that is falling!

St Peter Port....our home for the next week!
